Falltastic Pumpkin Party

I wanted to have one last party for Bailey as an only child...you know before she has to start sharing everything with her new baby brother. I also knew the baby would be born right around Halloween and we would not be able to do much this year. She was so excited about having a pumpkin party and helped me get everything ready. We had 10 little friends come over and the weather was beautiful! I made most of the food but had some help with the pumpkin shaped PB&J's as well as Little Debbie and her fall cakes ;) We played 3 games: Wrap A Mummy in Toilet Paper, Sweep the Pumpkin, and Pop the Balloon by sitting on it. There were 2 tables set up outside. The first table was set for the pumpkin magnet craft and fall themed coloring pages. The second table was set for "Decorate Your Own Cupcake". Target had 5 different kinds of Fall/Halloween themed sprinkles in a pack and I dyed cream cheese frosting orange for them to use.

It was a fun party and Bailey loved having her friends come over for the afternoon.

Yummy fall food! Orange Cupcakes, Popcorn, Chicken Nuggets, Cookies, Cheese Ritz Bits, Marshmallows...

Party Favors with Halloween Gummies and Candy

Little Debbie Fall Cakes in White and Chocolate as well as Pumpkin Shaped PB&J's

Pumpkin Shaped Sugar Cookies

Pumpkin Rice Krispy Treats

Everyone dressed up including Meiko

Each child made a Pumpkin Magnet to take home

New items are in the mail!

I just met up with a friend and we ordered so many cute things from www.embroiderthis.com. I'm so excited to put names on bloomers and bibs for baby gifts and newly married couples initials on towels. I also ordered a large spool of orange embroidery thread for $3.10! What an incredible deal! I love love love finding good deals! Can't wait to put Sweet Little Brycen's initials on the bibs as well as all the other babies being born this year. I have 3 little girl birthday parties to attend over the next two weekends so the bloomers will be great gifts for them. I can't wait to show pictures of everything that I will be working on...we are getting a new faster laptop next week during "no tax" weekend so I will be able to work on more projects and open a website! I may start with just an etsy store at first and then branch off...we are looking into options right now. Any tips on starting a website retail business is appreciated! I am starting with embroidery, sewing and cookies - I have everything for those three hobbies without having to invest anything more. So who knows I may branch off into vinyl stuff but that will have to wait until I get a handle on these three first. The next few weeks will be busy but I'm ready for a new challenge.

Princess Dress Up Party...Part 1

A few weeks ago I planned a party for my daughter and niece. We had it outside at a nearby park with a great covered pavilion. The weather was perfect - a cool 80 degrees. I enjoyed preparing all the decorations and food for their special day. My friend Karen took the pictures below...message me if you are in the Montgomery Area and want to use her. She is just starting out and is fantastic. The only thing missing at this party was Blake - he was working/traveling every single weekend in March so there was no way to plan it with him here.

The dessert table with the wooden birthday hat with Bailey's initials....I did the hat before knowing it would be a double birthday party. I hot glued the crown and added the chandelier magnets to the food tower to make it fit the theme. I bought the cute flower plates and flower pots from hobby lobby for 1/2 off! I finally found my chandelier cupcake holder at HomeGoods!

The bottle says "Happy 4th Birthday Bailey" and the other side says "Happy 9th Birthday Abigail" with a princess picture in the middle.

Pink chocolate with purple sprinkles

The cake was strawberry so I did chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and of course...purple sprinkles.

Each princess had their own place setting with a personalized cookie.

To add some pazass to ordinary oreos I put "A", "B", "9", and "4" on them in pink icing and added purple sprinkles.

Ring cookie party favors for everyone

Valentine Box to Pinata

Bailey's Pink & Purple Princess Birthday party is coming up in 2 weeks so I have been finishing up all the decorations to leave room for working on just the food the week of the party. Also, a big change in plans...it is now a Double Birthday Party for my niece and Bailey. They are both excited to share the party together...but that means doing 2 of everything and extra work, but its for the greatest niece ever so I don't mind at all. I was thinking about putting Bailey's Castle Valentine Box on the gift table and adding Abigail's name for decoration but after thinking about it I decided to turn it into a pinata! I cut out the bottom of the box and hot glued a brown paper sack across the bottom and then added tissue paper in rows of purple and pink. Another great thing about turning it into a pinata is that it gets destroyed and doesn't take up space in my house anymore ;) Plus I needed to give the boys something to do and those sides are still thick cardboard that will take a while to bust open. So for a $1 pack of tissue paper and 20 minutes I have a fabulous pinata for their birthday party in the exact colors I needed.

Before: Castle Valentine Box

After: Princess Bailey & Princess Abigail's Pinata

Projects!

I have not done any projects around the house or bought any new decor items all winter long. The last time I had a social gathering was at Christmas for my Avon Open House. I used to love doing projects and having people over, but being a mom has taken preference over a lot of things especially when I have to do it by myself. So my friend Aca who just got married in November has been talking about all the things she is doing around her new home and yard. It was so nice talking about projects and making things that I was so excited to do things myself. Every weekend I have done something productive around the home and I even had some friends over for dinner one night. The first weekend was the yard (see blog below) then it rained for like 2 strait weeks - it was hard to get out and about and do just about anything with a 2 year old -so I shampooed the carpets and did spring cleaning. The next weekend I re-upholstered my breakfast area chairs. We have a red kitchen with green accents which is connected to our golden yellow living room. I wanted to cover the white chairs with a bright color since the warm colors are starting to bore me. This past weekend I was on a search for a bed side table. Blake and I have been married for 2 1/2 years and we have used a chair as our bedside table to hold our cell phones, remote, and whatever else. I have priced bed side tables and they are quite expensive if you buy only one and I am not going to pay $300 for something to sit my cell phone on at night. So I thought I could find a cute accent table for around $100 and that way it wouldn't have to match perfectly and it would be decorative. I looked at a few websites at work and saw that Target had a few decorative tables so Bailey and I went there Friday night at 8 (yes, past her bedtime). We always go to the cafe first and get a drink and a snack. She got a small sprite with only an inch of liquid in the cup because she still hasn't figured it out that you can not lift the cup up like a sippy cup and some popcorn. We get to the aisle with furniture and there is was - a dark wood with honey accents bed side table AND it was on sale through the weekend for $80 AND it was the last one! I was so excited. I got it home and it literally took about 2 hours to put it together along with Bailey "helping". It looks so good. It is maybe a shade darker, but you would not be able to tell and even the feet match our bedroom furniture. Every time I added on a piece to the table Bailey got excited...she thought I was building a house for her babies. On Saturday I went to Hobby Lobby looking for fabric to make a headboard for the spare bedroom and to make 2 picture collages. I went in and found houndstooth fabric (which matches our football room/office perfectly) and this adorable pink and black fabric for Bailey's room. I bought everything there (boards, quilt stuffing, ribbon, pins for the boards, hanging tape, and fabric) and went home and started my magic. Everything turned out better than I thought it would. I'm so excited! So it was a very successful weekend of shopping and getting things done.

There are no pictures on the boards yet because I am getting them all developed after I get Bailey's 2nd birthday pictures back today! They turned out really good! Thanks to Brittney O! And we do not have bedding for the bed yet...I'm taking sewing classes next month so maybe I will learn to make something.
